THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERATOR , artifact's first feature-length documentary, enjoyed an exceptional tour of four continents launched by a world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2004. It has been screened in more than 40 prestigious venues such as the Amsterdam (IDFA), Taipei, Full Frame and Leipzig festivals, as well as at the Mipcom market in Cannes, and was considered in international competition until the spring of 2006. PHANTOM got rave reviews internationally in Variety, The Village Voice, Time Out New York, the annual guide of Les Cahiers du Cinéma, as well as on BBC World. It won the Best Experimental Film Award at the Brooklyn Underground Film Festival in the spring of 2005. Back home, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERATOR ran in the competition for Canada's Top-10 Films and attracted sold-out theatrical screenings in Montréal.
